The Institute of Gallbladder diseases research

The Institute for the Study of Gallbladder Diseases of the Research Center for Hepatobiliary and Intestinal Surgery of the Ministry of Health of the People's Republic of China is the only developer in the world of equipment for minimally invasive operations of a new type to remove gallstones from the gallbladder and to remove polyps from the gallbladder and its ducts without removing the gallbladder.

The Research Institute was founded in May 2008. Until now, it is the first and only institution in China engaged in scientific research in the field of gallbladder diseases.

The main research directions of the Institute are:

- prevention of gallbladder diseases;

- medical education;

- diagnosis and treatment of gallbladder diseases;

- surgical operations to remove gallbladder stones and polyps;

- development of endoscopic equipment and technologies.

To date, our Institute is the only developer in the world of equipment for minimally invasive operations of a new type to remove gallstones from the gallbladder and to remove polyps from the gallbladder and its ducts without removing the gallbladder.

Clinical studies over 18 years have shown that only in 5-8% of cases stones are formed repeatedly. In order to avoid relapse, our doctors give recommendations and regularly check ultrasound during the first 3-5 years after surgery. But, even if you forgot to do a timely control ultrasound after the operation and the stones still formed - in this case, the operation can be repeated the required number of times.

The unique equipment for minimally invasive gallbladder surgery was developed and patented in China, manufactured in Germany. At the moment, more than 1,000 patents have been obtained for equipment and technologies for performing surgery with the preservation of the gallbladder. Over 10 years, more than 6,000 operations have been successfully carried out for Chinese citizens and foreigners from 23 countries.
